Lugano-based company Skypull will be the standard-bearer for the Canton of Ticino at the prestigious Viva Technology fair which takes place in Paris between May 24 and 26. Also known as VivaTech and staged at the Paris Expo Porte de Versailles, the event instantly established itself as a major showcase for innovative technologies and start-ups on its debut outing in 2016.
Skypull is attending the French fair as part of the «Switzerland – Home of Drones» campaign which aims to promote Switzerland as a high-tech hub of leading-edge innovation and is being launched at the event.
Most people are quite surprised to learn of Switzerland’s involvement in drones, a cutting-edge technology with vast potential for the future of communication. They know about our chocolate and our watches – now it’s the turn of our drones!” says Ambassador Nicolas Bideau, the head of Presence Switzerland.
The Swiss Pavilion (stand E47-E48), which has been named “Suisse Volière”, features 10 exhibitors, mostly from Lausanne, Geneva and Zurich, showcasing a wide variety of different projects. Ticino is being represented by a prototype of the Skypull drone, which uses high-altitude winds to economically and sustainably generate electricity and is being displayed on the “Drone Aviary” wall.
